Our Story

From Ghana to Australia we're making a difference

The Deluxe Mission is simple

To bring the benefits of shea butter to the world whilst empowering local individuals and their communities, providing employment and opportunity to create a sustainable quality of life.

Here at Deluxe Shea Butter, it’s the people behind the product who make it all happen. Our premium, fair trade products are a direct result of giving members of the Ghanaian communities a fair go with a fair day’s pay for a fair day’s work. We are so proud of our team members and what they’re able to achieve once given the opportunity. Just recently, we got to hear from a handful of different families and what being part of the Deluxe Shea Butter team means to them…

Sana Danaa of the Sankapalla Dakoliyili community is a grandmother of 3 and one of our most experienced shea pickers.
Sana’s underprivileged childhood meant that her parents could not afford to send her to school. With a burgeoning family of her own, Sana has to work 3 jobs to be able to send some of them to school for better employment opportunities.
Memunatu Mahamadu is from the Buiyili community, she has 5 children and 3 grandchildren. She always has a smile on her face!
To make ends meet, Memunatu farms, sells charcoal to burn and picks shea nuts. Memunatu is such an inspiration to us all in her desire and effort to provide food, clothing and education for her loving family. Well done Memu, we couldn’t be prouder of you.
Anda Awudu takes pride in producing the best shea butter in Ghana! She’s dedicated to providing for her community.
For over 15 years, Anda has been involved in Deluxe Shea Butter production. True to our Promise

The business began operations in 2007 when the two founding brothers formed a partnership with their mother and Auntie, the late Nana Adubea Yeboah II, Traditional Chief of Aduamoa in Kwahu, Ghana. Initially we supplied Shea butter to the Ghanaian community in our adopted hometown of Adelaide, Australia.

Increased consciousness of the benefits of Shea butter has seen Deluxe Shea Butter Australia grow steadily from local roots to be an international presence. We hold enough stock to cater for all kinds of customers, whether a large manufacturer or just the occasional user of Shea butter because of our strategically placed branch in Accra (in Ghana) and local storage facilities in Adelaide, Australia.

We understand that our customers expect fast, friendly and reliable service and delivery. At Deluxe Shea Butter we go that extra mile. We are large enough to compete, but small enough to care. We pride ourselves on delivering quality and personal service at a competitive price.

Having grown up in Ghana using Shea butter as our family has done for generations, we are passionate about sharing its rejuvenating healing qualities. We are an ethical company that endorses fair trade, sustainability and caring for the environment.

As a producer and supplier, we work closely with women co-operative groups that operate within our Deluxe Shea Butter Ghana Network of Pickers and Processors located in the northern region of Ghana, to pick and process the Shea nuts. We possess a robust distribution system where the unrefined Shea butter is packaged and delivered directly to commercial and individual customers worldwide.

Our company values include success through people, relationships, empowerment, respect, speed, flexibility and continuous improvement.

We at Deluxe Shea Butter Australia are proud of our unique and rich heritage which encompasses a blend of two cultures. True to our Ghanaian Akan tradition of Sankofa, we have gone back to bring the benefits of Shea butter to the world.
